COAA Rally, May 24-36, 2014
By Wallace Venable

The first COAA (Carousel Organ Associaton of America) Rally of the
year will be next weekend (May 24-26, 2014) at Lake Winnie (Lake
Winnepesaukah) Amusement Park in Georgia, just south of Chattanooga,
Tennessee. See http://www.lakewinnie.com

"De Javaan," a Verbeeck 36-key Model C from the Netherlands, will be
making its first North American appearance.

Larger organs are expected to include Captain John Leonard's North
Tonawanda Military Band Organ model 191 from Canada, a 49-key Limonaire
fairground organ, a New-Matic (Ed Schmidt) 168-style Wurlitzer, and a
Johnson Organ Co. style 157 (Wurlitzer 150 scale). The Lake Winnie
Ruth 33 on the carousel will also be playing.

Fifteen smaller organs are expected, including factory models from
Jager and Brommer, Raffin, Pell and Organ Supply, Inc. Home-built
organs will include examples of John Smith and Hoffle designs and
several Castlewood kit organs.

To date we have fifty-four people from fifteen States, Canada, and the
Netherlands registered for the rally. You may still be able to
register by calling Danell Mauldin at (501)920-1828. COAA allows non-
members to register. The $10 registration fee is not a "meal fee"; it
covers administrative expenses. We allow all registrants to take part
in all hospitality provided by the local sponsors, which at Lake Winnie
includes park admission, rides, and the COAA picnic.
