Supplier of Wurlitzer Unit Valves
By Matthew Caulfield

If Steve Bentley is looking for a supplier of standard Wurlitzer
unit blocks (valve blocks) of the type used on Wurlitzer band organs,
the last I knew Roberts Musical Restorations, in Deland, Florida, was
making and selling new ones. I am sure they would be of excellent
quality.

I do have some extra ones that were made by Player Piano Company.
Luckily, I have quite a quantity so that I can sort through them
and pick out the ones that are the tightest and snappiest ones. If
Steve can't find them anywhere else, I could sell him what he needs.

PPCo valve blocks lack the screw thread adjustment to fine-tune the
amount of valve travel, so I have to make that adjustment by slightly
changing how deeply the metal valve cap is set in the block -- not
a big job, but valve travel does affect the block's performance.
