I was very saddened to read of the death of Bob Streicher.  He opened
my soul to mechanical music when he restored a Steck Duo-Art grand that
I purchased in 1970 without knowing it was a player.

Only recently I called Bob and asked him if he would like to do some
restorations  in Israel.  He said he would love to, but could not leave
his beloved dog.  It was Bob's love of mechanical music that inspired
me to start a collection of music machines that has given me much joy
for over fifty years.  He is truly missed.

  [ Nisan's famous Nisco Museum of Mechanical Music in Ein Hod, the
  [ only museum of its kind in the Middle East, was so severely
  [ damaged by fire in December 2010 that there must still have
  [ been a lot of work for someone like Bob Streicher to do, although
  [ the museum quickly recovered and reopened.
