Market for Mechanical Musical Instruments
By Don Teach

	Our Hobby

I collect pianos and other automatic music machines, as well as antique
mechanical anything. In my part of the country there are a lot of
lakes and other waterways--bayous as we say, swamps to some of you.
It's a fisherman's paradise. Many of the locals have fishing boats
costing up to fifty thousand dollars or ski boats for pleasure. I
doubt any of these people expect to make money when they sell their
boat. If you think about it, the cost per pound for the fish they
catch makes fish very expensive. But it sure is good.

We can enjoy our music hobby year round, rain or shine. We are spoiled
because for years we made money on our toys. Now I sit back and just
enjoy what I have accumulated over the years. Car collectors can't
enjoy their hobby year round; so we are the lucky ones. Many have
cars that just sit in a nice display area.
