Player Piano at Thrift Store
By Jeffrey R. Wood

Hi Jody, This is a modified Stroud half-Duo-Art from the 1920s.
Stroud was made by Aeolian, but only the earlier Strouds had that
name cast into the plate.

The modification consists of replacing the spoolbox with a circa 1910
one capable of playing both 65- and 88-note rolls. This older spoolbox
originally had manual tracking, but the present automatic tracking
system appears to have been transferred over from the later Duo-Art
spoolbox original to this piano.

Much work has been done on this instrument (note the new hammers and
refinishing job) but the quality and extent of it remain questionable.
Hopefully the sale would include a box of "parts left over".

I would hesitate to call any upright less than 57 inches high, "tall".
