Player Piano at Thrift Store
By John McClelland

Greetings all, The piano appears to be an English Duo-Art Themodist
player with a 65-88 note tracker bar. A lot of them were imported
(by the container load) in the 1970's. The tracker mechanism is
typical of the earlier Duo-Art pianos. It's not a dual tracking
mechanism but the paper edge rubs against the spring loaded vertical
lever which opens a valve, causing the tracker pneumatic to send the
roll in the opposite direction, thus closing the valve.

The serial number will indicate when it was made, I don't have my
Pierce's Piano Atlas handy so someone else can fill in that detail.
It looks like a nice piano and it could be restored to sound quite nice.

Cheers,

John McClelland
