MDF Versus Plywood

I'd be concerned with the glue adhesion.  MDF swells easily when
wet -- it flakes and crumbles.  Forget tacks in the corners.  If it
survived the cloth being glued on, how long will it last through the
seasons?  Stick with the tried and true plywood.
