Coinola Swell Operation
By Steve Bentley

The large Coinolas have a 'swell' system. On the right hand
side on the 'Coinola coding', the highest note is 'A', then the
Tambourine, next is the 'Swell', the last being the 'Crash' cymbal.

I would like to ask how the swell system is operated; is it the
shutters opening and/or an increase of vacuum? I have been making
perforations similar to the sustaining pedal for the duration of
the 'swell' feature. Hopefully this is okay. Some advice on this
would be welcome.
