While I would forgive you, I disagree with your conclusion.  There may
be another player piano lover or a museum who would delight in your
unneeded rolls.  Since you are willing to throw them away, I assume you
would be willing to give them away.

I suggest you do something like freecycle: post your information on MMD
and offer to leave the rolls in an agreed upon location.  The recipient
agrees to take your rolls and not leave any trash.  In addition, I have
visited two local heritage museums with player pianos with very limited
roll collections.  I imagine you could find a place to donate them,
giving you a possible tax deduction!
