Source of 20-note Hofbauer Crank Organ Rolls
By Wallace Venable

Charles Davis said, "Later on in the summer I will be receiving
a 20-note Hofbauer crank organ that was a "kit build" from 1988.
I will be searching for some more rolls for this organ and would
like to know who sells and makes them."

As has been said on this forum before,
http://www.mmdigest.com/archives/Digests/201411/2014.11.01.02.html
virtually any 20-note 110 mm wide roll will play on this organ.
I personally recommend Mel Wright as a source, but there are others
as well. The COAA's Carousel Organ magazine carried an extensive
list by Gordie Davidson in 2009. See

With the Hofbauer you face a _spool_ problem because they used a
different end than everyone else. There are a couple of "traditional"
ways to adapt "Raffin" spools with threaded hex rod, etc. See

I have recently purchased a 3-D printer and I think I have successfully
printed spindles which should allow easy construction of new spools,
but I have not had the opportunity to actually test the fit since I do
not own a Hofbauer. More on that later.
