"Punchinello" by William Rimmer
By Matthew Caulfield

You can now hear arranger Andrew Park's arrangement of William Rimmer's
march "Punchinello" for the Wurlitzer 165 band organ by going to my
website http://wurlitzer-rolls.com/ and finding the entry for roll
6861, where "Punchinello" is tune 1. Click on the link there to play
the recording.

William Rimmer was one of the best of the march composers and might
have stood at the top of the list, but he was eclipsed (at least in
the U.S.) by his contemporary, John Philip Sousa.

Andrew Park's arrangement is excellent and does full justice to one
of Rimmer's best marches. It is recorded from the ex-Lincoln Park,
California, Wurlitzer 165 band organ, now fully restored and playing
in the Glenn Thomas collection, Belle Mead, New Jersey.
