Three questions:

1. On a 1934 Holtzer-Cabot motor, 1/2" diameter "set screw" type
plugs are over the holes with the cotton-type wicking in them for
the shaft bearings, that seems pretty dry.  Precisely what type of
lubricant should be used on these wicks, and how much of it?

2. What are the much smaller set-screws for, that are directly over
the shaft ends?

3. The motor seems to run fine, except that it isn't totally silent.
Should it be taken to a motor shop for some reason, or just have the
dust blown out of it through the casing ventilation holes, be
lubricated, and reinstalled in the Stroud Duo-Art grand that it came
out of?
