No question in my mind; the "perfect, squared" version is much more
listenable.
Generally I like some flexibility as opposed to a purely mechanical
rendition. But the "uneven" version seems to me to be so uneven that
the rhythm is impaired, arpeggios are unpleasant, and in some places
it sounds as though the wrong notes have crept into the right chords
(if that makes any sense).
