Popcorn & Bees in Brass Trumpet Organs
By David Dewey

Well, my situation wasn't in an automatically played instrument
but in our church's Reuter pipe organ. It began having ciphers and
non-playing notes, becoming most unreliable. We assumed, based on its
age, that the leather pouches, etc. had aged beyond their life-span.

However, disassembly led us to discover leaf wasps had invaded the main
chest, using those nice wood channels to make their nests! We've also
had a few bee invasions in the chambers too.

Ya gotta be vigilant out there! :)
