Motor Mount in Early Duo-Art Upright Piano
By Samuel Stroud

John Haskey inquired about the motor mounting in his upright Duo-art.
I've enclosed some photos of my Stroud Duo-art. The rear of the motor
is suspended with a thick strap mounted on pegs secured to the base
of the piano. The front is suspended with adjustable straps; see the
photos. The belts used on mine are from Napa, style 25-12203 (25/64"
x 48-5/8").

On a side note, several people wrote me personally about my starting
switch on my Electric Specialty Co. motor. Thank you. It still has
some life in it. Since I took the back cover off to take photos,
I haven't had an issue yet with it starting, although a repair and
rewinding are in its future.
