Covering an Exhauster Bellows
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, I've just completed a web page about the cloth covering on
an exhauster bellows in a player piano. As I got into the project,
I discovered that there was more to the subject than I had previously
considered -- questions like "Why do we need stiffeners? Do the
stiffeners have an optimum shape? Do stiffeners have more than one
purpose?" Hopefully, I've answered these questions.

That said, the primary purpose for creating the page has to do with
the steps involved in making the covering. While the process seems
almost second nature to those of us who work on players, I found that
the process isn't anywhere explained in detail. So, I hope it will
help those who have never restored an exhauster bellows.

Musically,
