Aeolian Duo-Art Orchestrelle Free-reed Chest
By Rowland Lee

There is currently for sale on eBay what I believe to be a chest from
an Aeolian Duo-Art Orchestrelle, containing two ranks of free-reeds
with magnets and what looks like a wedge-shaped resonator [array].

If it is not from a Duo-Art Orchestrelle, I wonder if it might be
a free-reed echo division from a pipe organ; I have heard that such
things may have existed in original installations, where space was
particularly limited. At any rate, it is surely a very rare item and
looks to be in fair condition.

I feel sure that there may be collectors out there who would give
their eye teeth for such an item. I have therefore decided to bring
this listing to the attention of the MMD community as the item is
mis-identified; it is listed as "Chest from a church pipe organ".

I have been trying to contact the vendor in order to tell him that he
has something rare and interesting, but he is not accepting messages
of any kind via eBay. I can't bid on it myself as he is not offering
international shipping.

It may be that I am completely wrong in my estimation of what this
item might be; If so, I would be very interested to have the opinion
of someone more experienced.
