Hi All,  Thank you to the many people who responded to my request for
information about the tapered pin.  Evidently it is the part that was
'left over' when Bob made the spring-activated hole punches for music
rolls.  If anyone wants any of these, pay for the postage/packaging and
you can have as many as you like.  I probably have about 200 of them.
