Refinishing Shellac Based Finishes

That recipe contains muriatic (hydrochloric) acid, a very strong acid,
and ammonia, a fairly strong base.  I'd imagine you'd get a pretty
vigorous reaction releasing ammonium chloride in sort of a fume form.
I'm not sure that this would be a great idea or what benefit ammonium
chloride would have in a piano finish.
