The following text was condensed from LP liner notes, written by
collector and historian Mike Montgomery, and reproduced at

  Sometime, probably during 1919, Eubie took a train from Boston to
New York.  A man on the train recognized him and invited him to stop
in Meriden, Connecticut, to make rolls, which Eubie did.  Apparently
Eubie recorded at this time, on the Artrio-Angelus label, rolls which
were made by the Wilcox and White Co. in Meriden.  An Artrio-Angelus
roll catalog dating from about 1922 lists six of these early Blake
rolls, and all but one of them have been found.

  Eubie has heard this roll and claims it is not his playing.
He feels it is a bootleg issue.

8049 Gee, I Wish I Had Some One To Rock Me In The Cradle Of Love

  Eubie has listened to this roll and confirms that it definitely
is his recording. The roll sounds like Eubie, too.

  Eubie's remaining rolls were made for the Mel-O-Dee label, which
was first introduced by the Aeolian Corporation in January 1920. ...
