"Blue Devils March" in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"
By Andrew Lardieri

Hi all, I would like to let everyone in the mechanical music community
that I finally figured out the name of the tune playing on the Gaudin
fair organ featured in the fairground scene of one of my favorite films
of all time, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," starring one of my most beloved
actors, Dick Van Dyke, as the witty inventor Carracticus Potts.

The tune that can be heard on The Gaudin is "The Blue Devils March",
by Charles Williams, which has been arranged for a Wurlitzer band organ
(particularly and only the 165) by Bob Stuhmer.

Below is a link to a video of the march being played on the 70-Key
Becquart Hooghuys which I think, just by hearing its voicing, was the
same organ heard in the movie.
