Stella Music Box Crank Mechanism Problem

I am looking for information or picture of the Stella crank mechanism.
The spring ring on the inside of the cog wheel is blocking both forward
and backward cranking.  It looks like the end of the ring is damaged.
I can't see anywhere that it was anchored.  Pictures at links below.
