Calliope Plays Bach Toccata & Fugue in D-minor
By Jack M. Conway

Hi Group, Terry Bender's mention of a live performance on his calliope,
drawing a crowd, reminded of an AMICA band organ rally I attended.
We pulled into Santa Barbara's central park across from a large church
on a Sunday morning. When we were greeted (and several times after
that) we were told not to play a note until after the church service.

After the service concluded a gentleman walked across the street and
asked about my Tangley CA-43 calliope. He wanted to know if it could
be played by hand and I explained that it could. He then introduced
himself and said that he was the church organist. He asked if he might
play it. I said, "Yes, if you don't mind my video taping it."

So I have a video of the church organist playing Bach's Toccata and
Fugue in D minor on a Tangley calliope -- not exactly calliope music
but I love it!
