Hi all,  Bob Stewart was inquiring about the usage of the Ampico
Installation Test Roll (Ampico 55743).  According to the Ampico
rollography by Obenchain, the roll was made pre-1917, which would
mean that it was used on the production line in the Ampico factory
to test the capabilities of each Stoddard Ampico piano before it left
the factory.

The roll should be able to be used on all Ampico A rolls to test for
note repetition and the response of the intensities.  The crescendo
readings may be a bit off, because the Stoddard system had a slightly
different Crescendo and Decrescendo rate from the Ampico A.

The roll could also be used on a Ampico B system for note repetition
and intensities, but would not have the capability to identify levels
of amplification, O-T softening or the other niceties in the B system.
