"Weile Special" Piano Rolls
By William Brooks

Hello, everyone, and Happy New Year! I'm trying to work out the
business links for the company that issued "Weile" or "Weile Special"
piano rolls between, roughly, 1921 and 1927.

As far as I can determine, the "Weile" in question was Emile Weile
(1876-1945), who was a music department manager for various department
stores in St. Louis at that time (and probably before and after).

Advertisements in St. Louis papers seem to imply a link between "Weile"
rolls and either the Connorized or the QRS catalog, but I can't come up
with anything specific.

Does anyone have information about Weile himself or the rolls that bear
his name?

Best wishes,

[ At one time QRS made rolls labeled as "Weile Special"; see
