The Pianola Museum in Amsterdam was founded by Theo de Boer and
Kasper Janse.  They have been collecting instruments and music rolls
since about 1970.  Theo died in 2012 (aged 99!).

After 45 years the collection has many instruments documenting the
development of the automatic piano and related instruments.  In our
collection are many reproducing pianos and, among others, the Aeolian
Pipe Organ (#1163) that was installed (1910) in the beautiful house
Kareol built for Mr. Julius Carl Bunge, a fervent music lover and
millionaire.

The museum is housed in a former police station near the city centre
of Amsterdam, only a 5 minutes walk from the Anne Frank House, where
from 1928 till 1939 a small music roll factory (Euterpe muziekrollen)
was located.  Now the city of Amsterdam is planning to sell the
building to the highest bidder, which will mean the end of the museum,
which is visited by many foreign visitors each year.  Also there are
many concerts (last year about 125).

We have started a petition to convince the city council to make it
possible that the museum can stay at this location.  Please sign the
