Player Piano Technician Trainer Available
By Walter Gerber

Hello all, this is Walt Gerber. I've been rebuilding antique

player pianos professionally for more than seven years and as

a hobbyist for many years prior. My customers included the Stone

Mountain Antique Museum, the late great Larry Crabb and most

recently The Antique Piano Shop (APS). Now I'm reaching out to

determine any interest in my teaching this lost art to a new

generation.

Prior to joining APS I was preparing to offer a Player Piano

Course and I developed a syllabus consisting of four days for 10

hours a day (boot camp style training) performed at the customer's

shop. The training covers all aspects of player operation and

rebuilding.

The current cost per student would be $895. Upon completion

of the course, the student should have the skills to rebuild an

upright pneumatic player and eventually move on to more complex

player systems. My goal here is to determine whether a market

exists in the Southeast for this specialized, live, leader-led

training.

For questions contact me at my email address below. (Serious

inquiries will receive a list of topics covered upon request.)
