Wind Supply for Reproduco Pipes
By Jim Quashnock

Jerry, An inexpensive and effective way to supply air to organ pipes
is to use a commercial playground inflatable blower -- the type used
to inflate those bounce houses, etc. They come in various sizes, each
with more CFM [cubic feet per minute] output and higher pressure.

I'm am currently using a 1/2-hp Xpower blower which supplies plenty
of air at 7-1/2" water pressure for another instrument. I am guessing
that the Reproduco organ pipes operate on 6" or less, so this size
would work. You might even get by with the 1/4-hp model; just check
the static pressure. The latter is not always listed, but if you write
to the vendor, they will provide it as well as the noise level.

Adding a regulator and/or reservoir would help steady the pressure and
give a better performance. These units are quiet, but not as quiet as,
say, a Ventus organ blower. About 55 dB noise level, as I recall, for
the 1/2-hp model. But they only cost around $100 (a lot less than a
$3000 Ventus) and are readily available from places like eBay and
Amazon. Here is a link to one of the distributors:
