Scale of Gebr. Weber Player Piano
By Nicholas Simons

Harald Mueller's question about the Gebr. Weber player piano is
a puzzling one [180718 MMDigest]. It is generally accepted that
Gebr. Weber stopped making orchestrions around 1930. The serial
number of 3348 puts this instrument as the 48th made in 1933, some
time later than 1930.

We need to know whether this is a straight player piano or an
orchestrion. If the latter, it will conform to one of the well-known
scales that appear in the various books, but if it is a player piano
it throws new light onto the workings of Gebr. Weber after the end of
the orchestrion era.

I suggest that Harald asks his friend for lots of photos and a rubbing
of the tracker bar.
