Laser Cut 20-Note Busker Organ
By Joel Shprentz

Ian Dickinson demonstrates his 20-note busker organ, similar to the
John Smith design, in a Computerphile interview posted to YouTube:

He explains how he digitized the plans and cut the parts with a laser
cutter at Nottinghack, a Nottingham Hackerspace:

Ian also laser cut four music rolls. He wrote a program to convert
MIDI files to SVG vector graphic files. The laser cutter is only 1.2
meters wide, so he spliced together several pieces to make each roll.

The interview was conducted last weekend among the tents at EMF2018,
the Electromagnetic Field camping festival held in Eastnor, UK. Over
2,000 hackers, artists, geeks, crafters, scientists, and engineers
attended the three-day event, see https://www.emfcamp.org/
