Repairing Hammond Model BA Player Organ
By Jim Lauck

Daniel Tenerowicz writes in October 18th MMDigest that he is unable
to gain access to the pedal drawbars of his Hammond BA player organ
to fix a dead pedal note. If all other pedal notes are playing then,
I don't think a broken drawbar wire is the problem.

I had a similar problem with my Hammond BA some years ago. I found
the problem to be a broken wire in the wiring harness that runs from
the upper generator through the pump area and into the pedal contact
box. My problem started intermittently so that I could manipulate
the cable and cause the note to cut in and out with the affected pedal
depressed. Once the area was located, I cut the cable lacing and
repaired the break.

Alternately, you could run a new wire.
