Roll Scanners & Ku Klux Klan Piano Rolls
By John McClelland

Greetings all, I would like to thank all the readers that responded
with information about their scanners or ones they know about. I know
there are more out there and I welcome any additional information.

On the second issue noted above: in my travels into various piano roll
catalogs I found a roll entitled _ Ku-Klux-Klan _, issued in 1923 on
the Spanish Victoria label #6780. It is described as a _Fox-Shimmy_,
it has words; music written by Keppler-Lais (pseudonym for Patricio
Muñoz Aceña), lyrics by Fowler-Sam. The piece describe the horrors of
that organization that were perpetrated in New York City and Atlanta,
Georgia. My Spanish is pretty rusty, so I am taking the synopsis at
face value. This roll exists in a private European collection. An
image of the sheet music cover is attached.

If anyone would like to forward their collection list, I would most
appreciate it. I am not looking to buy or scan any rolls; I'd just
like to know what rolls have survived.

Cheers,

John McClelland
