The Telektra hand-played (brass) rolls had box labels that featured
a facsimile signature of the recording artist.  They were printed
in a blue ink that many times has completely faded away.

As this was the only way to identify the pianist other than from
extremely rare roll catalogs, many of which have yet to be discovered,
is there any way to make the signature visible again using some
chemical solution or special wavelength light source?

I have tried ultra-violet light but that doesn't work.  I have quite
a few of these rolls with the signatures that have disappeared.  Can
any chemists here explain faded blue ink on roll labels?
