Glue for Urethane Coated Nylon Pneumatic Cloth
By John A. Tuttle

[ Ref. Mark Washek in 181228 MMDigest ]

Hi All, After running numerous tests, using four types of glues that
are known as 'plastic glues', it's my opinion that the best one for
gluing Urethane Coated Nylon Pneumatic Cloth to wood is Spectrum 0401.
This is the glue that I am now selling at Player-Care as 'Plastic Glue'
in 8 fluid ounce bottles.

Besides providing what I believe is a better, stronger bond than
PVC-E glue, Spectrum 0401 doesn't 'stretch' like PVC-E glue. Some
of you may know that it is the 'stretchy' nature of PVC-E glue that
leads to bellows failure. This is especially true when the bellows
is under constant tension, as is the case with things like air motor
governors and some tracking devices and auto-sustain devices.

I shot a video that shows the difference between the two glues. It's
located at https://youtu.be/2e2bRJF7oRM

Musically,
John A TUttle
