Measuring the Speed of an Air Motor
By Jon Page

One way to count [wind motor] revolutions is to place a mark on the
chain, then turn the motor by hand and count how many times the crank
shaft rotates for the mark to return to the same position.

With the Tempo set at different speeds, count the number of times the
mark on the chain passes a point. Multiply by the previous calculation.
