Arburo Dance Organ at Houston Astroworld Park
By Roger Wiegand

Following up on my earlier post [230406 MMDigest], thanks to readers
responding here I've learned that the organ I have is not the organ
that was auctioned from Astroworld in 1985. This leaves two options:
either the story I was told was correct and there was a second,
earlier, Arburo at Astroworld, or the story was not correct and I
have no idea of the history of the organ.

Any help on unraveling the history of this organ would be appreciated.
I purchased it from the Bryant Stove Museum auction 18 months ago.
I was told that prior to Bryant it was owned by another stove collector-
dealer in Oregon (Buck Froman) who in turn purchased it or traded for
a stove from a collector in Oregon, who had obtained it from Texas.
Mr. Froman was the source of the information that it had come from
Astroworld.

The organ was originally imported to the USA by Hathaway and Bowers as
part of a large collection of dance organs brought over in circa 1965.
It was #27 in that collection.

If anyone recognizes this organ and can shed any light on its history,
either here or in Europe, I'd be most appreciative. You can see a
picture of the organ at https://www.arburomusic.com/
