Regarding the challenge of antique repairs, the instruments are aging
and the owners are of a new generation that doesn't particularly
revere them. The same is true for the antique clocks I work on.

And the instruments are hostage: the owners will discard a piano that
they feel is too expensive to repair.

I don't have a solution.
