Tune Piano to A435 or A440?
By Lee Rothrock

As long as you never wish your instrument to be in tune with the rest
of the world, A=435 Hz should not be a problem.

I heard a tale once involving a musical group that came together for
a performance where there was a 435A piano present. As they were used
to tuning up according to the nearest keyboard instrument, they tried
to do that. It was not a good idea!

While a 5 cycles-per-second difference doesn't sound like a big
discrepancy, it turned out not to be an achievable tuning for the
instruments present and the performance was disastrous.
