Wurlitzer Mandolin PianOrchestra (WMPO) Music
By Robbie Rhodes

This music was played on the Style 30-A Wurlitzer Mandolin
PianOrchestra (WMPO) in the collection of Mike and Marilyn Ames
in Solana Beach, California. It was recorded by Rob DeLand
in December, 1988.

When all organ stops are turned on and playing, you will hear
piccolos, violins, violas, cellos and flutes (total 146 pipes),
as well as 13-note orchestra bells and a reiterating 30-note
xylophone.

Terry Hathaway has compiled a history about this particular
Style 30-A instrument, which is published at
https://www.mechanicalmusicpress.com/history/pianella/w30a_2.htm

The first song is WMPO-454-1 "Switchback Rag" by Harry Auracher
(a.k.a. Harry Archer), published by M. Witmark & Sons, (C) 1911.

The second song is WMPO-454-2 "Roo-Ti-Toot On Your Ragtime Flute"
by Joseph Cooper, published by Shapiro Music Pub. Co., (C) 1912.

The remaining songs on roll 454 are all from 1912. The earliest
WMPO instruments were shipped to Wurlitzer customers in 1913,
according to the shipping records at
