Dear MMDers, Greetings from the UK. It is my sad duty to report the
death of lifelong player piano advocate, restorer, author, historian
and enthusiast Patrick John ("Paddy") Handscombe.

Paddy died (he hated the use of the term "passed away") on the morning
of Wednesday, 30th August 2025, at his home in Wivenhoe, Essex, UK,
following a long period of battling with prostate cancer.

In recent months, I had become one of his carers, and was with him
when he died. At the time of his death, he was the Vice-President of
the Player Piano Group in the UK.

Paddy had a remarkable life; a full obituary will follow later in
the year.
