Seek Disc Musical Box Serial Numbers
By Kevin McElhone

Now that I am retired I can spend more time researching Disc
Musical Box serial numbers, which I started over 20 years ago for
the Musical Box Society of Great Britain (MBSGB).

This data is being collected this data anonymously, not keeping
details of who owns what. I wonder if readers can help me please
as I have only had about 350 boxes in the last year since my last
appeal for help. Can you help this time?

All I need is the maker's name, the case wood type, is the box
table-top or upright, the accurate diameter of disc, the format of
combs (single or duplex) and the serial number.

If you do not want to type up all of that simply send me a few photos
if possible, but not vital, although this often confirms the model
type. The current Excel summary file is attached.

I have published the full details in my book about Disc Musical
Boxes, the Supplement, and the Musical Box Society G.B. Journal
'The Music Box'. I would particularly like to hear from you if you
own boxes _not_ made by the 'big three' makers: Symphonion, Polyphon
and Regina.

Thank you,

Kevin McElhone - MBSGB New Members Secretary
