Speakeasy Music Perforators are Up and Running!
By Charlie Morgan

Speakeasy Music Rolls perforators are up and running! Before
I tell you about the perforators let me tell you about the rolls
we will be producing. We will be making recut (and new) rolls of
the highest quality ever made and of equal quality to Meliora
and Jazzola rolls.

Original rolls are digitally scanned with a computerized scanner
and then, using punch matrix recovery software, every single
original punch hole is accounted for. This results in an _exact_
punch-for-punch copy of the original roll. You can lay the recut
roll on top of the original roll and every hole with match up
exactly.

* We are using premium paper that will last 100+ years. The best
roll paper available in the last 100 years.

* We are using premium boxes. For Piano rolls we are using sturdy
alligator texture boxes made in Wisconsin. For nickelodeon rolls we
are using high quality pressboard boxes of the same type used by
Jazzola, John Mottoros, made in California.

I have spent the last year restoring, rebuilding, and rehabilitating
two roll perforators (and a third one is in the works). Tens of
thousands of dollars have been spent and hundreds and hundreds of
hours to make this happen. Both perforators have new modern electronic
computer interfaces built by Richard Brandle.

Perforator 1: Built by Carl Lambie in the 1990s. Can perforate most
6-holes-to-the-inch rolls including styles A, G, 4X, H, National,
Link, Peerless, Aeolian Grand, Welte 75-hole, etc.

Perforator 2: Built by John McClelland in the early 2000s but never
put into production. Can punch rolls 11.25" wide, 9 holes-to-the-inch
such as 88-note piano rolls, Ampico, Welte Licensee, Reproduco, Ramey
Banjo Orchestrion, Cremona M rolls, Coinola O rolls. Unfortunately it
cannot do Duo-Art rolls. There is also a dedicated die-set to punch
Welte T100 "Red" rolls.

Perforator 3: This one is still being rebuilt, but it will be able to
do 12 holes-to-the-inch organ rolls such as Aeolian Duo-Art 116 & 176,
Möller, Estey, Skinner, et cetera.

I have a long list of recut projects to complete so I will not be
taking any custom orders, but if you have suggestions for rolls or
formats you would like to see done, please let me know.

In the meantime we still have hundreds of preowned styles A, G, 4X, O,
and 165 rolls for sale as well as a few brand new A, G, and National
rolls on our website: https://speakeasymusicrolls.com/
