645. "Molinari" barrel organ, beautiful inlaid marquetry case (some
marquetry is missing) 39x26x48cm. Crank operated, 7 tunes (tune card);
23 keys play 32 wood flute pipes. About 1900. Functional, 7 tunes, beautiful
very lush arrangements. The Molinari firm (in New York, USA) imported some
European organs before manufacturing its own high-quality instruments.

646. A typical and very beautiful portable street barrel piano, similar
to the "back pianos" by Charles Amelotti, 18 Déflies street, Nice.
Varnished wood case 64x42cm, height 110cm (missing the fabric "grill cloth"
concealment). A beautiful manivelle; the manufacturer's card is inside.
Wood cylinder (worn), length 50cm, acts on 30 keys (the 12 deepest tones
with dampers), with a stamp at the end of the tune. Plays 10 tunes according
to the tune card (waltzes, polkas, etc.). A few cracks in the table, otherwise
it's essentially "in it's juice" [it's practically in original condition].
See Bowers, page 365. Functional, but clarification [adjustment of the
pins] adjustments desirable. A beautiful instrument, typical of the 19th
century.

of Valenciennes. Beautiful case in walnut and mahogany, ornamentation of
fillets and gilded bronze and a canvas (modern) on the front. 135x72, high.
193cm H. 50cm for the base. 105cm cylinder plays 10 airs (tune card) on
54 keys, with bass drum, snare drum, cymbals, woodblocks and 8 tubular
bells. Circa 1930. Good general condition, functions well but it needs
tuning

of the Black Forest. Walnut woodwork 60x45x65cm. 25 keys on a beautiful
burgundy-colored cylinder of 48cm; 3 stops (one closed, two open). Tune
card (Waltzes, polka, mazurkas, including "Napoléon Lied"). Crank.
Completely restored. Very beautiful condition and sound. Inscription "1869"
on the base.

681. Exceptional large music box movement, with a comb separated by
groups of 4, bass on the right. Early era, 4 tunes, 3 commands. In an oval
pendulum basis (44 cm, cleft lid, replaced screw) with rosewood veneer
and stylized marquetry on the front. Winding by key and barillet. Interior
command provides for starting by pendulum. Cylinder 22.6 cm, 25 groups
of 4 tines each. Excellent condition and musicality (lacking the right
finger of Maltese cross). Around 1820. One very rarely sees groups of 4
tines on the big movements with separated combs.

682. A large English double chime mantel clock, beautiful mahogany and
ormulu case on round feet, with rich decoration of golden bronzes in facade
(framed by two columns) and surmounted of pine cones on the sides. 44 x
27 cm, height 77 cm. Big steel dial with black Roman numerals. 3 auxiliary
dials: silence, advance-delay and choice between Westminster (4 bells)
or Cambridge (8 bells) carillon. Anchor escapement. Remarkable craftsmanship,
excellent condition, early twentieth century.

683. Rare Ducommun-Girod Forte-Piano music box, 6 tunes, key-wound,
3 commands. Nineteenth century box (refitted) in painted wood, with marquetry
on the lid (restorations, minor damage), length 45 cm. Beautiful movement
(mid 19th century) signed on the frame; cylinder 32.7 cm, 123 tines (89
for the keyboard + 34 blades for the soft keyboard). Good patriotic songs
(including "La Marseillaise", "Song of the Departure", etc.) with effects
alternating loud & soft. Beautiful original condition. Missing the
instant stop control; tune changing control rebuilt.

684. Régina, very beautiful table-top music box for discs of
53cm (20-3/4 inches). Big box imitation oak 72x60x35cm with a part of the
lid slightly raised by small columns of turned wood, to allow the sound
to pass better. Litho inside. Crank-wound spring, 2 face-to-face combs
(65+63 tones), American, around 1900. Very beautiful state of presentation,
working and sonority. With 12 disks.

685. Polyphon vertical disc music box with 40cm (15-3/4 inch) metal
discs. Mills phonograph pedestal 53x46x95cm contains the metal disks. Classic
case 53x30x108, with a beautiful movement of 2 opposing combs: one is in
two parts of 27+12=39 tines, the other is one piece 39 tines. Crank-wound,
good working condition. Germany, late nineteenth century. Various restorations
on the case and the movement: the beautiful head of a woman carved on the
front doesn't seem original, the hold-down bar for the disc is redone,
modification of the release). With 8 disks.

(planed lid). Tune card. Wound by lever. Brass cylinder 33cm acting on
3 keyboards (62 blades: 25+12 for percussions +25). Various repairs. Missing
a sharp blade, one percussion blade is rewelded. Around 1900. The sound
needs adjustments.

687. Wilhelm Bruder Söhne (Waldkirch) portable barrel organ with
pipes, 24 keys. Beautiful case decorated with filets and flowered marquetry
(some holes on several) 55x33x55cm. Cylinder with 9 tunes (original tune
card: waltzes, mazurkas, polka, etc...) Length 42cm. Acts on 24 keys. One
pull stop. Approx. 40 pipes. Good condition, some restorations due to usage
(bellows), needs some regulating. Late nineteenth century.

690. Rare cylinder music box, with 3 protruding levers. Around 1830/35,
4 tunes with handwritten tune list. Box from that era, very simple, in
fruit wood 26,5x11x9cm. Key wound. Brass frame and cylinder (length 14,2cm).
80 tines (a few good restorations are somewhat visible: cylinder redone,
6 blades and 2 tips replaced, a few rare missing spikes). Beautiful notation
and sonority. Unusual tunes: "Hamburger né né favorite danse,
Galope de la Norma, Valz la Reunion, Valz Ludovic". An early box of that
time, interesting and of beautiful quality. Rare and good tunes with handwritten
tunesheet. Very good condition.

42 keys (including 6 for percussions comprising a snare drum and two bells).
Black case decorated with gilt filets, 39x40x70cm. Vertical reading of
zinc strips (includes two well-arranged new strips). Germany, circa 1900.
Some restorations to be completed (bellows need work), otherwise very beautiful
presentation. Functional.

restorations. Good musicality, beautiful state of presentation and working.
With 14 modern rolls of punched paper (Le Turlutain), of which 7 are without
spools. This type of organette is rare, because the improved system [the
'indirect' system, with valves] for air transmission cost too dearly to
produce. (cf. Bowers p. 759)

manufacture, about 1900. A few restorations, functions well.

Around 1930/40. Very decorative, seems complete, in good condition, working
but general restoration is needed.

case 43x20x16cm, traces of decalcomania. Worn. Crank wind. Brass cylinder
21cm, 3 tines and 2 tips broken, some lying spikes. End of 19th century.
The sound is good enough, but it needs restoration.

702. A fine coin-operated barrel piano in the shape of a cabinet. Furniture
with panels on the bottom decorated with thin marquetry and small golden
bronzes (including a tambourine dancer); top parts partially embroidered
with beveled mirrors, with 2 thick red cabochons [stones of convex form,
highly polished, but not faceted]), and an oval painting of a landscape
at the center. 120x69cm, height 185cm. Spring motor, coin-operated, 2 interchangeable
cylinders of 90cm (cracks) playing 10 airs on 46 keys, including bass drum,
snare drum, cymbal, woodblocks and bells. Electric operation is possible
(to be checked). Apparently complete, operational, but some adjustments
and tuning necessary.

704. 24-key Ludophone street organ construction kit, with pipes, partially
assembled. Case with decoration of thin line and marquetry of flowers 70x40x57cm.
3 registers. With plans, notes and pieces detached. Includes a cardboard
scale and a "medley" of Boyadjoglou. Produced by Le Ludion, Toulouse. All
in original condition, needing completion.

Art Nouveau style of thin lines, with a canvas (modern) of 3 girls dancing.
Tune card (polkas, mazurkas, waltzes...). Cylinder of 88cm manipulating
