Chartres is a beautiful old city, about 1 hour from Paris with a car or by train. You may visit one of the finest XIIIth century cathedrals in France, with wonderful deep blue stained glass windows ("le bleu de Chartres"). It has been for centuries a well known pilgrimage.
The auction will take place about 300 yards west of this cathedral,
in an old gothic chapel, at the Galerie de Chartres. The three auctionneers
are MM. Jean-Pierre Lelièvre, Pascal Maiche and Alain Paris. For

23 touches faisant jouer 32 flûtes en bois. Vers 1900. Fonctionne,
belle notation très fournie. La firme Molinari (à New York,
USA) a importé des orgues européens avant de fabriquer ses
propres instruments, de haute qualité. Notation extrêmement
fournie.

23 keys play 32 wood flute pipes. About 1900. Functional, 7 tunes, beautiful
very lush arrangements. The Molinari firm (in New York, USA) imported some
European organs before manufacturing its own high-quality instruments.

Caisse en bois verni 64x42cm haut. 110cm (manque le cache-cordes en tissu).
Belle manivelle, carte du fabricant à l'intérieur. Cylindre
bois (usures) long. 50cm agissant sur 30 touches (12 graves avec étouffoirs),
avec timbre de fin d'air. Joue 10 airs selon carte (valses, polkas, etc.).
Quelques fentes à la table, sinon pour l'essentiel "dans son jus".
Fonctionne, mais mise au point souhaitable. Un bel instrument, typique
du XIXème siècle.

to the "back pianos" by Charles Amelotti, 18 Déflies street, Nice.
Varnished wood case 64x42cm, height 110cm (missing the fabric "grill cloth"
concealment). A beautiful manivelle; the manufacturer's card is inside.
Wood cylinder (worn), length 50cm, acts on 30 keys (the 12 deepest tones
with dampers), with a stamp at the end of the tune. Plays 10 tunes according
to the tune card (waltzes, polkas, etc.). A few cracks in the table, otherwise
it's essentially "in it's juice" [it's practically in original condition].
See Bowers, page 365. Functional, but
clarification [adjustment of the pins] adjustments desirable. A beautiful
instrument, typical of the 19th century.

(carte) sur 54 touches, avec grosse caisse, caisse claire, cymbales, woodblock
et 8 cloches tubulaires. Vers 1930. Bon état général,
fonctionne bien mais accord nécessaire.

fillets and gilded bronze and a canvas (modern) on the front. 135x72, high.

54 keys, with bass drum, snare drum, cymbals, woodblocks and 8 tubular
bells. Circa 1930. Good general condition, functions well but it needs
tuning.
