The organ was very early in the possession of a director of performing bears, who traveled around the countryside with the bears.  Hence the name "Bear-Director's Organ"! Die Orgel war sehr früh in Besitz eines Bährenführers, der mit Bähren über Land zog.  Daher der Name "Bährenführer-Orgel "
