Echoing the sentiments of many others, I'd like to voice my
sentiments about the value of the MMD.
In as few words as possible, "It's Invaluable". There is no other
resource on the planet that even comes close. I know because
I've checked every other resource that's out there.
Naturally, there are other resources like Player-Care and The
Player Piano Group (and many others) that offer quite a bit of
information about specific mediums, but the MMD has the
most comprehensive database of information about mechanical
musical instruments in the entire world.
About 10-15 times a week (and maybe more) I refer people to
the Archives at the MMD. And if I can't find information about a
particular subject, I send a posting to the MMD so there will be
some tiny bit of information about that topic in the Archives. That's
the best way to keep the Archives growing.
In closing, I'd like to remind the members of the MMD that Jody
and Robbie spend countless hours making this information
available to us all. And I think it's our duty and our responsibility
to continue to support them financially whenever possible.
