Repairing Lador Musical Christmas Tree Stand

Hi, Dissimilar metals stuck together. There's probably some corrosion
between them, so --

I'd wrap some aluminum foil around the part below the cup to keep the
heat away. Then I'd take a heat gun and warm up the cup down to the
part that goes over the stud. The corrosion usually doesn't conduct
the heat very well so the stud will stay about the same size and the
cast cup part will expand. One light tap with a leather hammer should
do the trick.

You might also want to apply some ice in the cup (to get the stud
shrunk as much as possible) before starting. I certainly wouldn't want
to try a torch.

If the corrosion looks like iron rust, I'd turn the whole thing
upside-down and soak it over night in (you guessed it!) "Evapo-rust".
