FS: Ray Siou Church-Pipe Band Organ
By Jack M. Conway

Hi Group, I had a long talk with Ray Siou and he is trying to sell
the items remaining in his building that is for sale. He has an
Artisan electronic theater organ for sale or donation. It has
a horseshoe console and is a kit-built organ but was wired by
a professional. He also says that he has lots of vacuum tubes left.

The instrument he is most anxious get moved out is his Wurlitzer Style
166 Band Organ custom-built for him by Noble Stidham of MSI in Lubbock,
Texas. The organ is very heavy and large and needs to be taken apart
to be moved.

Most of the pipes in this organ are from dismantled church and theater
organs and some are from a Reproduco. It plays on 4-1/2 inches wind
pressure, developed by the included turbine wind motors. The dual
tracker roll-frames (by MSI) play Wurlitzer 165 music rolls.

The specifications are --

Melody div.: 22 Loud Violins, 22 Soft Violins, 22 Preset Violins,
22 Uniphone Bells, 22 Open Flutes, 22 Stopped Flute, 22 Piccolos,
22 Flageolet Pipes, 22 Bells.

Trumpet div.: 14 Wood Bassoons, 14 Trumpets, 14 Wood Violas,
14 brass Trumpets.

Accompaniment div.: 10 Two-Foot Open Flutes, 10 Two-Foot Stopped Pipes,
10 Four-Foot Pipes.

Bass div.: 6 Eight-Foot Open Pipes, 6 Eight-Foot Stopped Pipes,
6 Wood Trombones, 6 Four-Foot Brass Pipes, 6 Four-Foot Clarinet Pipes,
6 Tuba Pipes.

Percussion div.: Loud Snare Drums, Cymbal, Crash Cymbal, Triangle,
Kettle Drum, Bass Drums, Castanets.

Ray says the pouches on the changer are leaking and cause notes to run
together. He says he will sell the complete organ or will sell by parts.
More than 150 Wurlitzer 165 music rolls are available with the organ.
The organ is offered "as-is where-is" in Oakland, California, USA.

Ray does not have email, fax, or long distance telephone service.
If you have any interest contact me and I will pass it along to Ray.
If my email address does not work for you my address and phone number
are in the AMICA, MBSI, and COAA membership directories.

[ According to Tony Greer the organ was delivered to Ray Siou
[ in November, 1978, so it's thirty years old now and due for
[ some maintenance. Tony Greer's web page of organ photos
