Player Piano Adverts of December 1908
By Roger Wiegand

The New York Times online runs a feature they call the TimesMachine,
wherein they reprint the front page of the paper from 100 years ago.
I looked at today's offering and was amused to see not one but two
player piano ads from December 17, 1908.

-- "the power is applied to the keys direct, the same as when playing
by hand". The other is a large display for the Pianola Piano from the
Aeolian Company, "The Doorway to a New World of Pleasure" (beware of
wholesale imitations!). Player pianos must have been a hot Christmas
gift 100 years ago! On the same front page is an ad for Tiffany
Landscape Windows. New York Times subscribers can view the TimesMachine
at http://timesmachine.nytimes.com/browser/1908/12/17/P2
