History of Hupfeld Helios Orchestrion
By Brian Smith

Hi MMDers, This is a rather remote question, but I am wondering
if anyone has knowledge of when the first Hupfeld Helios was built.

The illustration of the style IV is dated as 1908. I know the early
versions of the Helios have a general date of around 1905. These dates
seem rather early in the scheme of orchestrion development, but Hupfeld
was a leader at that time. Any input?

Thanks,
Brian Smith
